Once merely a coffee consumer seeking quality, my journey into the world of specialty coffee began with a simple quest for better brews. From relying on coffee to fuel my studies and work to savoring the nuances of espresso and eventually embracing the simplicity of black coffee, my palate evolved alongside my passion.
During the pandemic, my wife and I embarked on a transformative journey to Colombia, a country renowned for its coffee. It was there, amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant culture, that I encountered Gesha coffee, renowned for its exquisite flavor profile and rarity. Captivated by its richness, velvety texture, and natural sweetness, I was determined to explore its origins further.
In the quaint town of Libano Tolima, we crossed paths with Nano, a retired Colombian ambassador turned coffee farmer. As we strolled through his verdant finca, he revealed rows of nascent Gesha coffee trees, embodying the essence of this prized bean. Inspired by our encounter, we envisioned sharing this exceptional coffee with enthusiasts back in California.
With Nano's support, we obtained a precious batch of Gesha coffee from his farm, marking the inception of our specialty coffee venture. Armed with determination and a sample roaster, I meticulously experimented with roasting techniques until I captured the essence of the coveted Gesha flavor profile.
Since May 2023, our journey has been one of dedication and discovery, culminating in the recent arrival of our second harvest. With each batch, we refine our craft, eager to share the unparalleled experience of Gesha coffee with aficionados worldwide.
